Lilies

The Lilies worked really hard this week in preparation of Market Day. It´s still a couple of months away but we are working on three different crafts and we are taking our time to make sure they turn out great. We can´t wait to share them!

Lpfö: develop their creative abilities and the ability to convey impressions, thoughts and experiences in many different forms.

Sunflowers

Makey Makey

Sunflowers explored the possibilities of makey makey, starting with a banana piano, ending on playing on each other's noses. We've connected cables together with things conveying electricity, spoke about what works and what does not work - that's how we got the idea of using our bodies. We had lots of fun!

Sunflowers

Playing with magnets. Team work and conecting learning. Encouraging their curiosity and their understanding of science. They each picked a magnet each and fished around in a tank filled with various materials. They were super surprised when they could pick up a fork, a spoon and small lids all together with help of a magnet. How the magnets could get all of those objects at the same time?

VASALOPPET 2018

Vasaloppet 2018 with Lilies:

9 STATIONS and a lot of FUN! 😊

1: Hop to the next station 2: Pick up a ball and take it to the next station 3: Moo 😜 like a cow all the way to next station 4: Do Yoga poses 5: Eat a banana and blueberry soap and relax! 6: Go backwards to next stop 7:Hi 5 a friend 8: Put imaginary skis and ski to last stop...Run for it...AND 9: GOOD JOB! Your´re a winner!!!👌 Lilies got a medal and a diploma! All the teachers are very proud!

Tulips

Today the tulips baked heart shaped salt dough. They had fun baking and measuring the amounts required for example how many cups of flour which inco-operated science as well. They also got to mix the mixture in the bowl and once they rolled the dough, they were able to make heart shaped cut outs ready for Valentine’s Day next week!

Lpfo: develop their understanding of space, shapes, location and direction and the basic properties of sets, quantity, order and number concepts, also for measurements, time and change.

Lilies

The Lilies are working on recognizing patterns. We started working on making our own pattern. We cut a lot of small pieces of paper of different colors and each kid chose two colors. They had a grid and they tried to glue them in a sequence. They all really enjoyed this activity and showing their friends the pattern they had created.

Lpfö: develop their mathematical skill in putting forward and following reasoning.

Tulips

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances our outing this week had to be cancelled however we had an active but fun outing with the Tulips indoors. We danced and sang to one of our favorite songs ‘walking in the jungle’, we got to slide indoors, we got to dress up as princesses and dinosaurs, we even got time to do jolly phonics, we laughed, we cried and then we laughed again!

 

Lpfo: develop their motor skills. Ability to coordinate, awareness of their own body as well as the importance of maintaining their own health and well-being.
