Sunflowers

Monday, Egg Hunt, Arts & Crafts and Sherborne Movements:

During week 14, The Sunflowers started their day with an egg hunt in our front yard. They searched for the eggs all over the garden. After this the children had circle time where we talked about the easter holiday and how it can be celebrated; we celebrate the coming of spring and new life (birds chirping, new baby animals, flowers and blossoms). This was followed by several activities where the Sunflowers were broken up into groups and participated in the following: decorating their bunny masks, and eggs as well as Sherborne Movements with the Lilies, according to the Sherborne Association in the UK here are some of the benefits of these movements:

  • ●  develop good self esteem, form positive relationships

  • ●  improve emotional and physical literacy

  • ●  extend and improve communication and creative expression

  • ●  build learning power, challenge thinking and increase problem solving

  • ●  create pathways for inclusion; enable differentiated, productive engagement leading

    to positive achievements

We have been working on the following Lpfö goals:
“ develop their motor skills. Ability to coordinate awareness of their own body as well as an understanding of the importance of maintaining their own health.” “Develop their creative abilities and the ability to convey impressions...”
